Founded by LCAV post-doc Christof Faller. Illusonic's mission is to develop technologies to improve audio reproduction to enable applications that reach a new level of realism. This includes technologies that advance the state of the art of sound capture, processing, and reproduction.
Quividi, based in Paris, was co-founded in 2005 by a former LCAV member. Quividi uses real-time video processing technologies to provide audience measurement and marketing analysis data for out-of-home display installations.
Dartfish is a spin-off founded by LCAV members in 1999, using technology for video special effects developed in the lab.
Riverbed Technology is a startup working on joint caching/compression solutions to enhance
wide-area network performance.
Riverbed was founded in 2002 by Steve McCanne,
a former PhD student (at UC Berkeley) and collaborator of Martin Vetterli.
Fast Forward Networks was previously founded by Steve McCanne and provided overlay networking solutions for content distribution. It was bought by Inktomi, which was itself bought by Yahoo.
