Short Bio

I received both my M.S. and B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in 2009 and 2007, respectively, from Universita’ di Bologna, Bologna, Italy.

During my master studies, under the supervision of Prof. Riccardo Rovatti and Prof. Gianluca Setti, I have investigated the usage of chipping sequence with colored spectrum for Compressed Sensing sampling architectures. I have completed a master’s thesis titled “Spectral shaping of compressing sensing matrices: optimization of energy “rakeness” and reconstruction performance” in June, 2009.

From July to December 2009, I have joined LCAV as a visiting student to investigate the spatiotemporal sampling of diffusive fields.

From January 2010 to August 2010, I have joined IBM Zurich to investigate the lithographic process as a signal processing problem.

From September 2010, I have joined the EDIC doctoral school.

From September 2011 I have joined LCAV to pursue my PhD.


I am currently interested in the following problems:

  • the spatiotemporal sampling of diffusive fields,
  • the spectral factorization of autocorrelation functions of sparse signals,
  • the concept of sensor-network-on-chip, to monitor the temperature of multicore processors
  • the problem of radioactive sensing, connected with the Safecast project.
