Research Interests

  • Inverse problems in environmental sciences. I am working on how to estimate emissions to the atmosphere using spatio-temporal measurements. Some examples of this problem are the estimation of emissions of radioactive substances during an accident in a nuclear power plant, or the estimation of emissions of CO2.
  • Robust estimators for linear regression problems. Working with real environmental data led me to robust estimation. The world always surprises us; that is why outliers appear, and that is why we need to design robust estimators.
