Short bio

I received the B.Sc. degree from Tsinghua University in June 2008, and the PhD degree from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Jan 2013. After graduation, I spent one year as a Post-doctoral Researcher at LCAV/ EPFL. I’m joining Huawei research center in Hangzhou. If you wish to contact me send me an e-mail at chenzc04 at gmail.com.

  1. Weatherlearn: Automated weather inference (recognition) algorithm, based on active learning and multiple kernel learning techniques. The features used are HSV color, dense SIFT, local binary patterns (LBP), gradient, and motion. We also provide a dataset with 1000 labeled panorama images shot at EPFL.   2. EVCoder: Event-driven video coding (EVC) algorithm, designed for static monitoring cameras. The compression efficiency is significantly better than H.264 video codec. See our paper for more details: Z.
