Biography
I was an M.Phil. student at Image & Video Processing Lab, CUHK. Prof. Thierry Blu was my undergraduate and graduate supervisor. My M.Phil. study focused on two sparse image restoration problems: 1) Solving the standard ell-1 regularized objective functional with linear expansion of thresholds (LET) ; 2) Sampling signals (specifically two-dimensional curves) with finite rate of innovation (FRI). I was a visiting research student at Imperial College London supervised by Prof. Pier-Luigi Dragotti during the summer 2010. From 2016 to 2017, I was affiliated with IBM Research Zurich as a research engineer working on source estimation from LOFAR radio telescope measurements.
I am currently working on continuous-domain sparse recovery based on of FRI sampling supervised by Prof. Martin Vetterli and Prof. Thierry Blu within Audiovisual Communications Laboratory (LCAV). Applications of the sparse recovery technique include, point source estimation in astronomy, direction of arrival estimation in acoustics and super-resolution microscopy.
